Most residential Level 2 EV charger installations take 2 to 6 hours, depending on the distance from your electrical panel, whether the charger is hardwired or plug-in, and if any panel work is needed. Most jobs are completed in a single visit.

What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 charging?

Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and adds about 3–5 miles of range per hour — fine for short commutes, slow for everything else. Level 2 uses a 240V circuit and adds 25–40 miles of range per hour, fully charging most EVs overnight.

Do I need a permit for an EV charger installation?
